From a 9-hole sand scrape at Kangaroo Flat to grass greens at Big Hill.
The club has welcomed visitors, social golfers, and members since 1947.
The course was converted to grass greens in 2000.
The club began as the Kangaroo Flat Golf Club, a 9-hole sand-scrape course behind the Kangaroo Flat railway station. Alf Grierson, a member and secretary there, knew Rupert Bissell, who owned the present Belvoir Park Road land and already had a 9-hole course on it. Members planned to move the club to Big Hill. A 100-year lease allowed golf on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and public holidays. Sheep grazed the land at other times, and wire fences protected the sand scrapes. Alf Grierson and Mrs Grierson were the first elected president and associate president.

Par 4. Blue tee 351 m. Red tee 345 m.
A gentle dogleg right starts about 150 metres from the green. The fairway slopes hard from right to left, so a drive at the centre-right can feed back toward the middle. Out of bounds runs the full length of the right side.
Bunkers sit front-left and front-right of the green. A ridge splits the green into two tiers. Miss left or long and the ground drops away.

Par 4/5. Blue tee 380 m Par 4. Red tee 394 m Par 5.
Par 4 from the blue tees, par 5 from the red. Out of bounds runs down the right. Old gums overhang the left side of the tee shot, so the gap looks narrow. The fairway slopes hard from right to left. A drive at the right-centre can use that slope. Too far right is out of bounds.
From about 100 metres, a large dam sits well left of the fairway. Two bunkers sit by the green, one short at the front and one midway along the right. The green is fairly flat, with a gentle slope from front to back. Miss left or long and there is a drop-off. The safer approach is the centre-right of the green.

Par 3. Blue tee 147 m. Red tee 100 m.
A signature hole. The teeing ground is long, so the yardage changes with the markers and the pin. A deep valley sits short of the green. Three sand bunkers and two deep grass bunkers sit around it.
The green has two tiers and slopes hard from front to back. A putt from the wrong tier is a long one.

Par 4. Blue tee 315 m. Red tee 232 m.
Short on the card, index 4 off the blue tees. The drive goes through a narrow chute, out of bounds on the right and overhanging trees on the left. The hole turns hard about 100 metres from the green. Large gums can block the approach if the drive is short.
It plays uphill first, drops into a deep gully, then climbs to the green. A drive past the 100-metre mark can catch the downslope into the valley. The green is raised and falls away on all sides. Two bunkers sit short-left and middle-left. The green has two tiers and small breaks.

Par 3. Blue tee 155 m. Red tee 155 m.
An uphill par 3 that plays longer than the card. The hole climbs from tee to green, then rises again onto the putting surface. A bunker sits front-left, and another midway along the right. Short leaves an awkward chip. Long leaves a downhill putt.
The green has two tiers and slopes hard from front to back. Above the hole, the putt is fast.

Par 4. Blue tee 313 m. Red tee 307 m.
A short uphill par 4. Trees sit close to the tee and squeeze the opening. A draw fits the gap. Thick trees line both sides, and the climb runs all the way to the green, so the approach plays longer than the yardage.
Bunkers sit short-left and midway along the right. A slope runs through the centre of the green. Miss left and firm ground can kick the ball farther from the green. The middle of the green is the safer target.

Par 4. Blue tee 292 m. Red tee 292 m.
Downhill, and long enough hitters can go at the green from the tee. A slope about 50 metres short can feed a ball toward the green. Pines run down the left. A large gum sits on the right.
Bunkers guard the front-left and front-right. The ground drops away left, right, and long. The green is long from front to back and has several small breaks. If the drive reaches it, below the hole is the better leave.

Par 3. Blue tee 189 m. Red tee 189 m.
A par 3 across a deep gully to a raised green. It is 189 metres. Miss the carry and the next shot is uphill. Short or right can fall away. Thick, grainy grass sits on the left, and a bunker is short-left.
The green slopes from back to front, so below the hole is the better leave. The centre is the safer target.

Par 5. Blue tee 453 m. Red tee 377 m.
An uphill par 5. Water sits left and right of the drive. Past the water, pines line the left. The landing area opens to the right after the hazards. The fairway still climbs, so a crooked drive is as costly as a short one.
About 130 metres from the green the fairway narrows. Large rocks sit on the left and tall trees close in from the right. Two bunkers guard the left of the green, one short and one farther back. Long can fall away. An angled tier runs through the green, and each level has a strong break.

Par 5. Blue tee 449 m. Red tee 387 m.
The tee shot drops into the valley. Dams sit left and right. From about 200 metres the fairway climbs steeply to the green, so the second shot is a choice between going at it and laying up.
The green is uneven. A deep bunker guards the front-right.
Par 3. Blue tee 173 m. Red tee 142 m.
A downhill par 3, with the ranges in view from the tee. Three bunkers: one short-right, two on the left. A tier sweeps through the middle of the green.
The edges are false. Miss right or long and the ball can fall into the low ground, and the chip back is uphill.
Par 4. Blue tee 361 m. Red tee 322 m.
The tee is elevated. The fairway slopes hard from right to left, so a drive can run across it. A dam on the left takes a shot that leaks that way. A tall tree on the right can block the approach. Centre-left of the fairway stays clear of the water.
Three bunkers: one on the right of the green, two on the left. The green slopes from back to front.
Par 4. Blue tee 343 m. Red tee 336 m.
The tee shot is blind, over a small crest, and the fairway drops into the valley. It slopes from right to left. Thick trees on the right catch a drive that misses that side.
From the valley the hole climbs to a raised green. Three bunkers: one short-left, two on the right. A ridge splits the green. The left side falls away into a drop-off.
Par 4. Blue tee 283 m. Red tee 283 m.
A short par 4 with a choice off the tee. Longer hitters can take on the gums and cut the corner toward the green. The other line is out to the bend, then an uphill approach. Water sits on the right of the tee shot.
The approach climbs. Two bunkers sit on the right of the green, and the ground drops away at the front-right. The green looks flat and has a lot of small breaks.
Par 4. Blue tee 321 m. Red tee 266 m.
A short par 4 with a sharp dogleg left. A deep valley sits about 150 metres from the green. Carry past it onto the top of the fairway and the green is in view. Short of that, overhanging gums on the left can block the approach. Out of bounds runs the full length of the right.
The green slopes hard from left to right and falls away on the right. A ridge runs through the middle.
Par 3. Blue tee 143 m. Red tee 132 m.
Short on the card. The green slopes hard from back to front, and the front edge falls into a deep low area, so a shot that comes up short is a hard chip. Two bunkers: one short-right, one on the left.
A grass bunker sits behind the green, so a shot that flies the green is a hard chip too. The middle of the green, below the hole, is the safer leave.
Par 5. Blue tee 482 m. Red tee 443 m.
A long par 5 that follows the ground. It climbs from the tee to the first rise, drops into the valley, then climbs again to the green. The hole bends a little right. A longer hitter can take on the hill and catch the downslope, which can leave a go at the green in two. Pines and tall gums on the right catch a shot that goes at them. A shorter hitter can play it in three and use the valley for the lay-up.
The green slopes from left to right and falls away on the right. On firm ground a ball there can run toward the out-of-bounds fence. A bunker sits short-left.
Par 4. Blue tee 384 m. Red tee 314 m.
A long par 4 to finish. Out of bounds runs the full length of the right. Trees crowd the left, so the tee shot is through a narrow gap. Between about 150 and 100 metres from the green the fairway climbs, and drives often stop on that slope. The hole plays longer than the card.
The green is slightly raised. A miss right can kick farther away. Hardpan on the left makes that chip awkward too.
